Keynote Speaker: Luke Bronin

Luke Bronin is the former Mayor of Hartford, Connecticut, serving from 2016 to 2024, where he led the city through a severe fiscal crisis, stabilized its finances, and expanded investment in housing, youth programs, and public safety. A Rhodes Scholar, Bronin served as a U.S. Navy intelligence officer and deployed to Afghanistan as part of the military’s anti-corruption task force, where he worked to strengthen governance and combat corruption.
Bronin previously served in the Obama administration as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes, helping lead efforts to disrupt terrorist financing networks and protect the U.S. financial system. Earlier in his career, he served as General Counsel to Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy, where he worked on policies addressing gun violence, environmental protection, and veterans’ homelessness.
A graduate of Yale University and Yale Law School, Bronin also studied at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He is currently running as a Democrat for the U.S. House of Representatives in Connecticut’s 1st Congressional District, challenging incumbent Representative John Larson.
